Where it all started
Matt and Courtney Tomey were born and raised in Lawrence County. They were married in 2012 and since then have been building their dream. With a passion for raising top quality cattle they run a registered and commercial operation that is quickly growing. They saw a need and demand for locally produced and slaughtered fresh meat and wanted to answer that call. From there the idea of Guthrie Creek Butchery was born.
Guthrie Creek is a small farming family owned and operated business located in Bedford,IN. Our team is made up of lifelong friends and family. As we carry on a dying art of old fashioned butchery we want you to know you can buy in confidence.

Our team
Our team is comprised of close friends and family. With many different skill sets, strengths and weaknesses we balance each other out. From left to right we have Jaylen Spence (head meat cutter), Courtney Tomey (owner/operator), and Scott Mathews (Bratwurst Master/Manager).
There are many other members of our team that help keep Guthrie Creek rolling as it should such as Matt, Courtney's husband, her parents and grandparents, her best friend Ashley, and the list could go on and on. The saying it takes a village rings true with small business. It takes a team and we've got a great one!
